Hi!
I’m Kat
Image captured by Wild Soul PhotographyI’m a child photographer based in the beautiful Cotswolds, and I love capturing the magic of childhood through my lens.
My style focuses on artistic storytelling, creating photos that reflect the unique personality and interests of each child.
I’ve been a photographer for many years, but it wasn’t until my son was born that I truly found my passion for child photography. He’s my OG model - the one who taught me everything I know about capturing children through my lens.
Having a son with Autism, I’ve not only developed my skills in child photography, but also learned how to tailor photo sessions to create a comfortable, fun, and relaxed experience for children with additional needs. That’s why I offer sensory-friendly sessions - ensuring every child feels at ease and can enjoy the process, no matter what their individual needs may be. Alongside my personal experience, I also hold a qualification in Understanding Autism and I’ve worked with many children with additional needs, always prioritising a positive, enjoyable experience for them.
Photography is my passion
- it’s what I think about constantly. The good and bad thing about having a neurodivergent brain like mine (Autism and ADHD), is that my mind never stops working. I’m always coming up with new ideas and I’m always driven to pursue the creative concepts I dream up. You’ll see my son in many of my images as we often venture out together around the Cotswolds photographing. Luckily, he enjoys as much as I do trying out the mad ideas I come up with! We’re always discovering new, unique places to shoot while I’m looking out for interesting locations to bring my concepts to life.
I’m also a firm believer in always learning and improving. I regularly take courses and collaborate with other photographers to expand my skills and stay up-to-date with the latest techniques. As a bit of a perfectionist, I’m always pushing myself to create the best images I possibly can, both technically and creatively.
At the heart of it all, photography makes me incredibly happy. There’s nothing quite like capturing a child’s unique personality and creating something magical they and their families will treasure forever.
